Christmas Errors
How much do you know about Christmas? Since the birth of the Lord Jesus
Christ, there have been misconceptions and wrong practices attached to it. Did you know
that . . .
- Christmas, according to the Webster dictionary is a derivation of Christ and Mass. While
there is nothing wrong with His name, the Mass is a Catholic practice that consists of
Sacraments which are not sanctioned by the Bible?
- The true essence of Christmas is not the material gifts, but THE GIFT, JESUS CHRIST?
John 3:16, Romans 6:23.
- There were Three Kings who paid tribute to Jesus Christ as commonly understood, and
found in many Christmas carols. The truth is, there were more than three well-wishers,
with a company of servants, soldiers probably considering the dangers and long distance of
travel (800-1000) miles from Babylon to Bethlehem. The travel took them less than 2 years
from the time the Star was sighted? Matthew 2:16
- They were not Kings, but wise men "magoi" or astrologers. In the palace of
King Nebuchadnezzar, they served him as the King's spiritual advisers. Daniel 1:20, 2:2
- Jesus Christ was already more than one year old, not as an infant, when they found him?
Matthew 2:16
- The wise men found Him in the "house" not in the manger. Matthew 2:11
- He was not born in the Manger. He must have been born in the desert or in the street in
the cold of the night as Joseph and Mary were approaching the city of Bethlehem. But
having found all the city's rooms and inns occupied, they settled in the stall and laid
the baby Jesus there to keep him warm? Luke 2:7, 12
- The birth of Jesus Christ is not the commencement of His earthly reign. He was to
fulfill the prophecy of Incarnation in order to make His death possible and to assume the
office of the humble Servant?
